چکیده

Beeswax is used on wood furniture surfaces in China. expensive and has a low melting temperature, the wax film easily softened destroyed. To overcome these problems, modified polypropylene grafted with maleic anhydride, high temperature price, was hot-waxed wood. The adhesion, hardness, hydrophobic properties, heat resistance, color, gloss of woods were also examined. surface interfacial properties characterized by FTIR, XRD, SEM. showed higher than beeswax DSC, resistance using it revealed TG. adhesion for shown to achieve grade 1. In addition, maintained original grades after soaking water greater become compared untreated wood, hydrophobicity surfaces, decreased contact angle, slightly weaker Moreover, (2H) harder (3B), representing stronger scratch performing well decorative characteristics, such as color gloss. results SEM, XRD mechanical weak chemical bonding between waxes presence structure. Therefore, could be great performance. study beneficial application coatings synthetic future.

Mechanical Properties of Polypropylene Coating Containing Maleic Anhydride on Plain Carbon Steel

Using Electrostatic Spray Coating Technique, Polypropylene Powder (EPD 60R) was applied on carbon steel substrates at room temperature. In order to obtain a uniform coating, steel substrates with powder coatings were heated in a vacuum oven at various temperatures up to 250° C for various periods of time up to 45 min and a pressure of 200 mb. The coatings produced had thicknesses of around 470 ...

Improvement of Durability of Wood by Maleic Anhydride

Wood as a natural renewable material is vulnerable to degradation by microorganisms and susceptible to change in dimension by water. In order to effectively improve the durability of wood, an active reagent, maleic anhydride (Man) was selected for wood modification. Man was first dissolved into a solvent, and then penetrated into wood porous structure under a vacuum/pressure condition. After a ...

influence of maleic-anhydride-polypropylene (mapp) on wettability of polypropylene/wood flour/glass fiber hybrid composites

the influence of maleic anhydride-polypropylene (mapp) (0, 2, 3 and 5%) as a compatibilizer on the wettability of polypropylene/wood flour/glass fiber hybrid composites was studied by using the contact angle determination technique. sample slats with a cross section of 10×70 mm were made by a twin screw extruder. specimens were conditioned at room temperature and the angles between the water dr...

Enhancement of the Mechanical Properties of Basalt Fiber-Wood-Plastic Composites via Maleic Anhydride Grafted High-Density Polyethylene (MAPE) Addition

This study investigated the mechanisms, using microscopy and strength testing approaches, by which the addition of maleic anhydride grafted high-density polyethylene (MAPE) enhances the mechanical properties of basalt fiber-wood-plastic composites (BF-WPCs). The maximum values of the specific tensile and flexural strengths are achieved at a MAPE content of 5%-8%. The elongation increases rapidl...
